Now that you're an American Citizen, there are a few logistical steps you will want to take to make sure you have all the proper documents for you and your family.

Applying for a U.S. passport

Apply in Person for a Passport: Go to this link and follow the steps to apply in person for a passport.
Passport Facility Locations: Go to this link and enter your zip code to find the closest passport facility, or place where you can apply in person for a passport, to you.
Passport Application Status: Go to this link and follow the steps to check the status of your passport application.

Updating your social security record

Your Social Security Card: Go to this link and go to page 9 to find out how to update your social security record. You must:
- Wait at least ten days after you were granted citizenship.
- Have your Certificate of Naturalization or passport to show to the Social Security official.

Helping family members achieve citizenship

USCIS N-600 Form: If you have a child that is a lawful permanent resident under 18 years old when you become a citizen, go to this link and fill out the N-600 form to obtain evidence that your child is also a U.S. citizen.
