Citizenship Classes

LVCA offers citizenship classes throughout the year. Classes vary in length and subject. Classes are open to anyone in the community who is within two years of applying for U.S. citizenship. 

  • Classes are free
  • Classes use Intermediate level English
  • Classes start on September 12th

New Students and students who have not taken classes with LVCA in the past year: 

Before the class starts, you will need to have a one-hour meeting to fill out our registration forms and take an English test. You can come to our office for the meeting, or we can meet on Zoom. After you register for the class, we will contact you to schedule your meeting.  

If you do not have the textbook, we ask you to donate $20 toward the cost of the book if you are able. You can mail us the textbook donation or use this link to pay online.

Fall Citizenship Classes - Starting the Week of September 12th

Zoom Options:

English for the Citizenship Interview Class: We will learn vocabulary for the interview questions and work on the reading and writing words on the citizenship test. 

  • Days: Tuesdays
  • Times: 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. OR 6:00 to 7:15 p.m.
  • When: September 12 - November 7 (9 weeks)
  • Where: Zoom

Civics Class: We will learn about the government and history of the United States to answer the 100 Civics Questions. 

  • Days: Thursdays
  • Times: 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. OR 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
  • When: September 14 - November 9 (9 weeks)
  • Where: Zoom

In-person Option: 

English for the Interview & Civics Class:

  • Days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays
  • Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon
  • When: September 12 to November 15 (10 weeks)
