Citizenship Classes

LVCA offers citizenship classes throughout the year. Classes are open to people in our community, who have a Green Card, and who will be ready to apply for citizenship in 1 to 2 years. We offer citizenship classes using intermediate-level English and basic-level English.

• Classes are free, but we ask that new students pay for class materials if they are able ($10-$30)
• Registration is required

New Students and students who have not taken classes with LVCA in the past year: Before the class starts, you will need to have a one-hour meeting to fill out our registration forms and take an English test.  After you register for the class, we will contact you to schedule your meeting.

Spring Intermediate-level Citizenship Classes 

We offer two classes with Zoom and In-Person options. Students can sign up for one or both classes.

2025 Civics Test

We will learn the 128 Civics Questions for those who have not filed their N400 application or filed after October 19, 2025.

English for the Interview

We will learn vocabulary for the interview questions and work on the reading and writing words on the citizenship test.

Spring Class Session Dates:

Please see the registration form for details regarding days and times of each class offering. 

• In Person and Morning Zoom classes: March 2nd to May 22nd.
• Evening Zoom classes: March 25th to June 11th. 

Please note: 

• We do NOT have a class for the 2008 Civics Test. People who applied before October 19, 2025 should sign up for our English for the Interview class only. We will provide you with a link to videos to learn/practice the 2008 Civics questions. 
•  Classes are 12 weeks long
• Classes are open to people who live in Virginia, have a green card and will be ready to apply for citizenship in 1 to 2 years or have already applied. 
• Classes use Intermediate level English
• Classes are free, but we ask new students to pay for the class materials if you are able (details provided on the registration form)
