LVCA offers citizenship classes throughout the year. Classes vary in length and subject. Classes are open to anyone in the community who is within two years of applying for U.S. citizenship.
New Students and students who have not taken classes with LVCA in the past year:
Before the class starts, you will need to have a one-hour meeting to fill out our registration forms and take an English test. You can come to our office for the meeting, or we can meet on Zoom. After you register for the class, we will contact you to schedule your meeting.
If you do not have the textbook, we ask you to donate $20 toward the cost of the book if you are able. You can mail us the textbook donation or use this link to pay online.
Our address is 233 4th St NW, Box L, Charlottesville, VA 22903. Our text number is 833-759-0380.
English for the Citizenship Interview Class: We will learn vocabulary for the interview questions and work on the reading and writing words on the citizenship test.
Civics Class: We will learn about the government and history of the United States to answer the 100 Civics Questions.
We recommend our Basic Citizenship class for students who are level 1 or lower. Basic English Citizenship class works on building basic reading and writing skills you need to prepare for citizenship in a small-class setting.
